Network Security Engineer & more

I am Laura Scoccianti. I graduated in December 2022 with a Master's Degree in Computer Science at the University of Trento, and now I work as a Network Security Engineer based in Trento.

In the office I am known as "firewall girl": my colleagues say that no matter what I will do, that is my nickname forever.

I'm a hungry learner and I like solving practical problems. The fact that my work is a constant enigmatic challenge is what relieves me about passing one third of my life sitting behind a desk, even if there's sun outside and it would be a perfect day to conquer some mountain passes on my road bike. Kudos also to the money and my joyful colleagues and the countless coffee breaks ;)

What do I do when I'm not sitting behind a desk, nor sitting on a bike saddle? I love arts, I love getting my hands dirty and that's why I cultivated my passion for painting since I was a kid. Over the years I've gotten into the world of digital illustration and graphic design.

Crazy with numbers

Coffees drunk since I started working

Years of service of the last legacy firewall I migrated to a NGFW

Epic Alps passes conquered (as of 23 July 2023)

Vertical meters since I bought my road bike (september 2021)

It may look bizarre to have both programming projects and illustrations/design creations in the same place. I believe it perfectly represents me: you can't have just my technical side or my artistic side, they both inevitably coexist.
